First of the downtown Main Street Murals has arrived

Cheka Creative celebrates Guelph's past, present and future with a mural on the side of City Hall

Calgary-based artists Alex Kwong and Sergey Ryutin, known as Cheka Creative, were busy on the weekend completing the first of four of the Main Street Mural Projects that are coming to Downtown Guelph.

The duo spray painted their work on the wooden inlet on the west side of City Hall, viewable as you head to the Farmers' Market down Wilson Street.

The work includes Guelph’s founder, John Galt, deer and Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate.

A protective anti-graffiti coating will be put on the mural later this week.

Three more projects are coming to the vicinity this fall.
