A fire in Cambridge is causing some smoke issues in Guelph, says the city.

A fire at a factory in Cambridge is causing odors in Guelph and resulting in calls to the Guelph Fire Department.

A City of Guelph news release says that the Guelph Fire Department responded to several calls Monday evening and suggests staying indoors to avoid the odours.

The Ontario Ministry of the Environment is on site monitoring air quality.

Odours are expected to persist through tomorrow morning.

Five fire crews were battling the blaze, which broke out Monday afternoon in the Hespeler area of Cambridge.

Updates will be posted on the City’s website, and on Facebook, and Twitter using #guelphalert.
