Guelph police are investigating after a woman was allegedly assaulted and two people threatened with a weapon during a disturbance early Thursday.

Approximately 12:40 a.m. police were called to an address on Woolwich Street near Speedvale Avenue. Investigation revealed the female tenant was home when a male known to her entered the apartment and confronted her over money he claimed she owed him. When the woman was knocked to the ground, another male on scene intervened.

The suspect then pulled out a screwdriver which he used to threaten them both before fleeing the apartment with the victim’s phone and laptop computer.

Neither of the victims were physically injured. The investigation is ongoing.
