Former University of Guelph vice-president Malcolm Campbell, who left the U of G for "personal reasons" last summer according to the school, has landed at Laurentian University.

It was announced Wednesday that Campbell will be taking on the position of provost and vice-president, academic with the Sudbury school.

Campbell spent eight years with the University of Guelph as vice-president of research, and as a professor with a PhD in biochemistry.

He was also the institutional lead and executive committee co-chair for the Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance.

His roles with Laurentian will include enhancing academic programs, promoting research and scholarly activities, and fostering a culture of inclusivity and innovation.
