Fire destroys vacant heritage mill

GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP – On Jan. 19, 2017, at approximately 3:15 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding a structure fire at a vacant heritage mill located on Wellington Road 49 in Everton that is owned by the Grand River Conservation Authority.

Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department, Town of Erin Fire and Emergency Services, Puslinch Fire and Rescue and the Guelph Fire Department attended the scene and the cause at this time is unknown. 

This incident is being investigated by the Wellington County OPP, OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit (FISU), Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department and the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall.
