WELLINGTON NORTH – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a fatal dirt bike collision in Arthur.
On May 2, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a parking area along Eliza St, south of Tucker Street, in Arthur. It was reported that the operator of a dirt bike was ejected and had sustained serious injuries.
OPP, Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services and Wellington North Fire Service responded. The operator, a 23-year-old from Arthur, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries but pronounced deceased shortly after.
Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team attended the scene and is assisting with the investigation. The office of the Chief Coroner was notified. The cause of the collision is still under investigation and anyone with information related to it is asked to call 1-888-310-1122.
